population explosion

I like lokin in google maps at areas like the east cape and others. I noticed that a lot of building went up over the past ten years probabaly double to triple what was there just ten years ago. Is this acually the rate of expansion, and if so will it double to triple again in the next ten years.

Check the La Ventana/El Sargento area.

Four or five years ago, there were 130 homes/buildings under construction in one year.

You may see a ten-fold increase from the base-level village of 15 years ago!

I can't begin to count the things that kept this little village from booming. 500 new people here in the 20 years since I arrived. About 70 gringos built homes here but like Los Barriles, the population varies with the season and with economic conditions down here and in the states. Why don't you buy something, somewhere that nobody wants and raise pigs and goats?

with a 26 percent increase in the markets in the US and a good outlook for next year I wonder if the season is changing once again? That and baby boomers are retiring and looking to go warmer places.

The population of the whole cape region has exploded in the last 10-15 years. I have a pretty good view from my house and probably 75% of the houses I can see, have been built in the last 10 years.

Very interesting! Mono & I are neighbors and ten years ago you couldn't find your way out to our beaches! I hate rentals and that's what is bringing in so many new people which will bring them and more back here! Close the door! My ocean view is now limited but at least it is a beautiful area. Much more so after Christmas and New Years! Speeding rental cars , etc make me wonder. Nicaragua? The whole area is growing but still very comfortable just more Friends. Smiles. Tio

You know how top offset that hysteria? Ask a GW (Global Warmest) if the water in a glass of ice and full with water rises and spills out of the glass when the ice melts?!! :light:
