At what point does one become a _______Nomad?
I've seen Newbies, Juniors, Platinum, Ultra.... and it got me wondering:
How are these designations determined? Is it a longevity, numeric or quality thing?
Does an administrator "assign" the level or is it done by computer algorithm?
Is it based on...
Number of posts started?
Number of replies to posts started?
Number of thoughtful/angry/ridiculous replies to various posts?
Quality of replies vs number?
Just wonderin'...
PS-- and what's with the stars?!?

Logic tells one the more time/trips SOB, gives the poster some
more latitude, cred, than the guy who went to Hussongs
once. I get the sense the BN's who live in Baja, RIGHTFULLY
view their info as perhaps more valid than than posters
who don't live there. I do get a kick out of some who
crow about how long they have been going SOB, seems
some were there when the Padres were building the Loreto

Well, not quite, but since my first 30 years were spent 11 miles from the border it was really easy to go down. My first trip down was with my Mom
and a "boyfriend" to Ensenada (I think) in 1946 , or thereabouts. That was 67 years ago. I don't recall seeing Father Serra, tho.
First major trip to the interior (Sierra San Pedro Martir & Meling Ranch) was in 1954 with NOMAD "Vince" and other's, for about 8 days, and
continued going down regularly after that.

Remember your days in elementary school when the teacher would put a star by the name of what he/she considered an honor student? Seems the ploy still
