Baja Search and Rescue Approved

While putting together Baja Search and Rescue, I find some very good services throughout the peninsula.
This is a very good mechanic in Tijuana conveniently located at a signal on the free road going to Rosarito.
For a complete list of services in Baja including English speaking contacts in all areas, immediate parts delivery and getting you unstuck, repaired, and back on the road, a membership in Baja Search and Rescue is necessary.
I will post a picture of the business later.

No free helpful info. for your 'human' friends at Baja Nomad? That's almost like if I started charging for GPS waypoints!!!
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Good luck with your travel club and I will look for your business details in the Baja Nomad Classified Forum.

You mean this?

<< This is a very good mechanic in Tijuana conveniently located at a signal on the free road going to Rosarito. >>

I guess if you live in Rosarito or Tijuana, that would help...

I sure hope if I break down it is in a heck of a nicer place to be stuck, like Mision Santa Maria or Bahia San Rafael, even Gonzaga or L.A. Bay! You know, the gringo places... where Baja Search & Rescue can help... perhaps??

Thanks for that one, anyway!

Let's just say you were really stuck.

Somewhere really remote.
Bahia de los Angeles and Gonzaga is pretty un-remote these days according to the development and hotels and help is but a walk away.
And, believe it or not, there are still a bunch of places in Baja that don't speak english once you get away from the touristy areas.
So, you actually go off road and have a problem. Like wrecking your face riding a mini bike for instance. In one of the many places in Baja where they don't have vacation homes and Budweiser for sale.
What if you could make one phone call, get an english speaking contact that can also speak Spanish and has radio and telephone contact with both the u.s. and over 200 contacts throughout Baja. In all areas.
And not just contacts made on a rush trip through Baja to make money from some publication, but researched businesses that have been recommended, established and are seriously interested in helping travelers.
Naw, probably wouldn't work because, "cell phones don't work in Baja"

I did say Mision Santa Maria first, Bahia San Rafael second... no English, Budweiser, or cell phones working there... Satellite phone, yes, however.

So in your remoteness, having a "sat phone",

or Mexican cell phone (being in Mexico!)

if you played your cards right, you could have Ice Cream and a Pizza delivered along with your pitman arm or whatever through a few strategically placed phone calls rather than just calling "someone that doesn't speak english" from some unknown location.
Things are different in Mexico and there is an almost eerie communications system. Word can travel fast here if you deal with the Mexicans! Rather than a "sat phone" and people that vacation here regularly.

Ice cream and pizza sounds good... but too much like gringo food!

Satellite phone to gringo (or Mexicano) Baja amigos does work. Neal and Marian were saved thanks to his satellite phone and good friends, no cell coverage in central Baja, yet: http://vivabaja.com/neal2/page6.html

I remember the incident well

and it's true, many of you would head down here to help someone at the drop of a hat. In fact, I bet some have even made up rescue stories just to come down here!
But, the idea is meant to speed things up just a little bit by using people that live here rather than waiting for someone from the u.s.. And through BSAR, parts can be had and brought out immediately to any location in Baja.
Of course, the Baja oficionadas would never need anything like this but there are a few who find it pretty useful. Like me on a regular basis!!
