La Casa Sylvia, Lopez

House for sale - for rent Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos B.C.S. Mexico

Hey!

Here's what I've done and decided to do.

Escaping Loreto's heat is easy with Lopez nearby.

Same climate as San Diego.

Anyone living on the Cortez side will find relief here.

But I found my place near Rosarito, and near my kids,

and am content there. Fish on occasion with BornFisher.

This place in Lopez has always been my home.

To fish with friends.

My family calls this Lopez house the Casa Sylvia.

After the Lady, wanted me to buy it.

The Sylvia house spent years as the Lopez Sportsman's Lodge.

But, The Sylvia has always been first, my fish camp.

Now, finally to the point:

I'd like to find someone interested in taking her for the summer.

That would be June through October.

Fish will be, talk now is only mangrove fishing.

Can give you Pacific, but better if the Master chimed in. Bill,

if you choose, what do the sporting folks like. I only know the table stuff.

June: Corvina, Garropa, Mantarraya & cabrilla.
July: Corvina, Garropa, Guitarra, Mantarraya, Pargo Rojo
and cabrilla.
August: Garropa, Pargo Rojo & Cabrilla.
September: Garropa, Pargos Rojo, Colmilludo, & Calandrio,
Robalo, Paleta, Roncacho & Corvina. Robolo as in Snook.
October . . . all of the above with Huachinango nearby on the
Pacific.

Rent is 500 a month U.S.

Nomads are always saying, live some place before you buy it.

There being 4 seasons in the year, one really should learn the place.

The Sylvia is for sale.

She carries perfect paper work. Title is in my Mexican name.

All taxes and utilities are up to date.

(Last years property tax, by the way, Two Hundred & Two

Mexican Pesos.)

Can be purchased for 49,900 U.S. dollars.

One hundred steps to the launch ramp parking.

Boat/Truck parking along side

Boat/Truck parking in the rear.

One double bedroom, adjacent bath

One triple bedroom with bath

Great room: Kitchen Dining & Living.

251.20 square meters, 13.00 & 18.40 meters X 16 meters.

City power, sewer & water. Pila for reserve.

Hot water heater is electric.

Stove is propane.

That's it!

The Front Porch seats a bunch at two tables. One works just fine.
At times extends on around the back to the BBQ.

Looking the other way through the porch you see nearness of the water.

Truck & Boat parking along the side

From the other end.

Truck & Boat parking in the rear.

Front of the Sylvia.

From the marina side.

Great room looking toward the kitchen . . .

From the kitchen, toward the marina.

Elcov to the bedrooms.

Triple bedroom

Toward the bath

Bath side door to the BBQ, ie, restroom for Baja folk waiting for food, & drink.

The Double bedroom.

Lopez has a great landing strip if you have a pilot buddy.

______________________

I'll always have a spot in Lopez. I've several places to build, some also available.

Lenguado . . . didn't mention it.

P.S. My new ride waiting for me near K-38.
We'll return Loreto togethe in October.

Hey churro . . . actually the numbers in the post are lot size & dimentions.

On second look, seems those numbers may be for the dwelling. It is lot size.

Thanks again for inviting us to stay at La Casa Sylvia last October.

The former lodge was very roomy with 2 bedrooms/bathrooms and a full kitchen for creating my treats. I loved being around the corner from the launch ramp and the ample parking for both a boat and RV inside the large fenced lot. Also being a short walk to local markets for.......beer was a plus. But especially all the friendly neighbors who came over to greet us, ask if we needed any help and to pass the time with. I felt safe and at home in town of Lopez Mateos especially with Mula watching over you.

Growing up in the mangroves of southern florida, fishing the mangroves here was a return to the past. It was a joy to watch the local fishermen catch shrimp from their pangas with their kids in tow both tanned from a life in the sun. My uncle also had a shrimp boat and as a kid I'd help him in the summer during his days of labor.

Inside the mangroves our guide Chico lured out the large pargo with a offering of live shrimp. No live shrimp no pargo as other fishermen in the area would find out. Chico guided us throughout the mangroves and its twisted maze of water channels holding an array of different species of fish. However, my sole purpose of that trip was to catch and release a black snook, the cousin of the #1 game fish of my youth. However, the black snook avoided me that October trip but I'll be back. Like in Florida, outside the mangrove bocas here opened up a whole new and exciting fishing experience. Whether you went 30 miles out to the banks for abundant wahoo or closer in for the tasty bottom critters this place has it all for an inshore and/or offshore fisherman who wants to put his head on his own pillow at the end of the day.

If ever you change your mind and want to long-term lease or rent out La Casa Sylvia please let me know.

La Casa Sylvia is a jewel in a place not affected by time.

Dennis

Jeff,

I hope you are doing well in your new home closer to your family.

John and myself really enjoyed meeting with you a few years ago, introducing us to Chico as our fishing guide and staying in your lovely spacious centrally located home. The people and the town itself was also beautiful, friendly and safe. John has been back twice since then fishing with Chico and limiting out on black snook both times.

With your drop in the cost for Sylvia, I'm looking for other investors to buy and use your place as a fishing camp for old farts like me. Great get-a-way place to introduce your siblings and grandchildren to a true Mexican cultured town with unsurpassed fishing adventures both inside and outside the boca. My 22' Cabo could easily brave the boca with Chico at the helm to reach the outer banks for wahoo and other fighting fish as well as the delicious bottom dwellers.
