I asked my Doc, Do you think I could live to be a 100?
He asked me, do you eat red meat or other meats? Nope I said, never have.
Do you drink or use any drugs? Smoke, Chase Women,Get out in the sun,
Stay up late? No, I never have done any of these things, I only eat vegan,
Drink purified water, Doc said, yep, chances are you will live to 100,
but from 85 on,you will be in the hospital dying of nothing!!!!!!!

I guess Woody if you have no other option. Actually, a statisfying partner (not cyber) is much more healthier and burns more calories. To each his own, carry on!

Get plenty of sleep and rest.

Stress is harmful, increasingly so as you age.

Investigate if you are allergic to any foods, food can be a healer but it also can be quite the opposite. So many people don't associate certain foods they eat on a daily basis as part of their health issues. For instance, My grandson was sick for 4 months, congestion, coughing, mucus, upper respiratory in general...went to many doctors, all of them said if he's not better in 2 weeks come back, finally one Dr (a naturopath, oh the horror), on the first visit said, lets test him for food allergies, sure enough allergic to dairy, wheat, gluten, chicken eggs, whey, casein (sp). Within 1 week of changing his diet, he was 100% well.

cut down on or cut out anything white, rice, potatoes, refined sugar, white flour.. etc.

It's amazing to me when you get out of shopping at the grocery chains and move into stores who offer more than just what the U.S. can grow for cheap...the world of flours opens up, I had no idea how many different kinds of flours there are in the world, myself and my grandson being gluten and wheat intolerant, I've been having a lot of fun exploring baking, bread making, desserts etc with so many more healthier flours!

what is your opinion Doc, on food being a culprit for health issues?

P.S. it's a subject that fascinates, this is why I ask!

I think I am allergic to potatoes and the nightshade family of plants in general.

YES, bummer...my beloved tomatillos are in that family. I didn't know either until recently how many plants we eat are in this family. First year I haven't grown potatoes, eliminates the temptation to eat them LOL!

Just curious, what happens when you eat something from that family, who would guess tomatillos are related to potatoes.

Can you respond to ANY thread without sarcasm and provoking and turning the thread into useless trading of barbs? Ends up defeating the intent of promoting useful information. Get a hobby or something.:?:
