Julio Meza (SQ) boat "The Spanish Fly" totalled in fire

Don't know if many of you know of Juilo Meza out of San Quintin.

A couple of years ago he bought the "Spanish Fly", a SeeVee 34' Open Center Console boat with triple outboards, from the family of Jose Wejebe, who tragically died in a plane crash in 2012. Jose had a popular Florida based fishing show by the same name.

Anyways, I just got a call this morning that Julio, who was making quite a name for himself in Baja fishing tournaments, was getting his boat ready to drive from SQ to Cedros, then to Ascunsion for a tournament.

Some how, when they were pulling the boat out of the garage it unbelieveably caught on fire and totally burned, taking some of the garage with it.

His house was spared....

Don't think anyone was hurt and its only speculation as to how it caught on fire. Battery chargers polarity reversed? Small leak in the gas tank? Who knows...

Nice boat, brand new they run in the 6 figures....

Alan from San Diego
