chubasco coming???

This weather event very much looks like the one we had a few weeks ago, with severe winds and rain here in Nopolo.
Anything happening down south?
Judy??

Well, we went out fishing and came back, filled the dingy with water at the beach but at least we kept it upright.

Just got back from La Paz.
It rained every afternoon we were there; rained hard. The city has no drainage system-- none, and all the low spots in the roads immediately turn into running arroyos. Not fun.

That being said, I traveled south through the eastern mountains to San Jose del Cabo. It was a beautiful, green green drive through those charming little mountain villages. Do watch for the running arroyos and rocks that will come down onto the highway south of San Bartolo, however.

It has been overcast here all morning.
The wind has just picked up a bit.
Not one drop of rain YET.

Mulege, BCS, 3:15 pm Sunday check-in

Big blustery winds have come up, south-east, accompanying thick high clouds in the distant south-east. Nothing out of the ordinary this time of year.

Monday morning, Aug. 18, 8:30 a.m. check-in

Clear, sunny without a cloud, hot and no wind here in Mulege pueblo. Just hung up last night's laundry.

Went swimming yesterday evening just before dark. No big waves and the water was noticeably colder than in weeks past.

Yes, winds blew hard last night. I usually hang the laundry before going to bed but did not because it was blowing so hard things would have gone flying around the neighborhoo

5:15 pm Mulege report, Monday the 18th August:

The winds had been howling for an hour or more, building up to a Mini-Chubasco that cracked open the sky for about a half-hour.

It drenched the laundry I had out on the line -- and myself -- before I could get it all down and inside. Oh well. Now, it's all over and done -- the rain, not the laundry which has to dry all over again.

Evening remains overcast, and muddy streets prevail. Beautiful sunset.

Such is summer in Southern Baja.

The laundry thing is always a challenge this time of year, isn't it.
I just rushed out to bring mine in because the clouds are building in the mountains.
