Got home today looking forward to a nice LONG weekend and opened the mailbox to discover two jars of seafood escabeche, delivered from "the area that shant be named."

recipe changes with the season. chorros, caracol, abulon, langosta, gueyduks.... it in a vinegar brine so it'll last forever....

made from the ingredients and hard work of a very special lady, Sra Mercedes.

Yum.
One year the fishermen gave us a jar one of their wives had made that had among other things abalone and pulpo (octopus) in it....The ones who were brave enough to try it, loved it; those who didn't still give us a hard time and can't believe we actually ate it. :lol:

it's pickled so it lasts forever until you open it. it's awesome sitting around a camp fire with a cold beer or 7.
