I wonder what the official certification program was like to be the CAPTAIN of the Nina, Pinta or Santa Maria...... I bet they had certificates and all the appropriate safety gear. Haha!

With the grammar and spelling that I have seen I wonder how he could ever expect to pass a captains license.

Lots of my Mexican neighbors own pangas and have fed their families, put their kids through college by using pangas to fish the SOC. It takes hard work, common sense and an understanding of your surroundings. These hard working guys don't call themselves Captains -- over the decades they decided pangas were to be their boat of choice for lots of reasons. When I had the chance to buy one I did and it served me well for conditions in and around Palmas bay for over 15 years. I gave it to a deserving guy who needed it more than me and it now serves him and his family enough to make him economically stable in a very shaky market.
