New restaurant north of Punta Chivato

We saw signs of a new restaurant open at Dolphin Cove which is straight north of Punta Chivato so we drove out and checked it out. What a treat, this restaurant overlooks the ocean on a bluff which gives great views of the water and San Marcos Island. They have spent a lot of time building this place and we can only hope they are successful. Prices were good and the presentation was even better. They have kayaks for rent to paddle around, boogie boards and things for the beach, a children's play area with trampoline, foosball, wading pool, and activity area. They are open only on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 on.

You take the Punta Chivato turn off from Hiway 1, at Palo Verde, where there is a sign advertising Restaraunte Delfine. Follow the Punta Chivato road till you see a turn off, which is the old road to Chivato. Again, good signs, and they have put purple and orange flags on the whole route so that you won't make a turn by mistake.

The menu has a great variety and the first time we had shrimp tacos which were great with lots of fresh condiments, and yesterday we had Mojarra Frito which is a whole fried fish rubbed in garlic. They had fish dinners, big assortment of tacos, empenadas, ceviche, cold beer, varieties of sea food c-cktails, hamburgers, cold beer, botanas or appetizers, cold beer, seafood soup, etc., and oh yeah, cold beer.

For their second week open, they had a good crowd there which was surprising for the time of the year. I will be doing live music there this coming Sunday afternoon, which should be a gas, at least for me.

The new road out to PC is in pretty good shape. The PV road is rocky and rough.
