Quincenal?
I am in the market for a refrigerator and went to Coppel in Loreto to look around. On the computer they had the prices listed for "cash" (or credit
card) and another higher price for credit paid over time. I understood those even though they were in Spanish. What I cannot figure out, what does
"quincenal" mean? It was another price that was around 10% of the selling price but they told me to ignore that figure.
It's another time I wished I paid attention to my Spanish teacher in high school. 
Is Quin a root word for the number 4?
Anyone know what quincenal means?

I THINK that it means payment twice a month on the 15th and the last day of the month to coincide with pay days.

Ah yes, the famous Coppel credit scheme. And I do mean scheme. Run far away. Just buy the thing outright.
The deal is you pay the quincenal over a year (24 payments). A TV that costs $2999 has a quincenal of $170, so you end up paying $4080, a cool 36%
APR.

Almost correct.
The truth is, it's neither a pear - in botany, nor a noun - in Spanish ...
Genus Quince shares same family with pears and apples, along with other fruits. Very close to pear, even used for grafting upon each other.

And, just for fun, the word Marmalade comes from the Portuguese word for Quince Jam.
