So if the first bike gets to CK7 between 8:30 and 10pm the first TT will get there between 2:30 and 4am. That would put the TTs in La Paz in daylight. I think that's what SCORE wants to showcase the TT at the finish line.

Is there a map (yet) that shows the course mile markers on it?

Map and GPS files will be out shortly. Talk of Sunday night, but I think it'll be a couple more days. Staff are pre-running the course now, firming up course details. Map will include mileage markers.

Someone associated with the race contacted me last year about supplying a chase truck with a mobile Internet connection for Score to upload live video during the race. Wish I could recall who it was.

I called and left a couple of messages with Score but no response. Just as well I guess. Already pretty busy.

Ck pt 6 will be about 4 hours earlier than ck pt 7? Is that a good guess?

Ck6 is at 735 miles and Ck7 is at 916 miles or 181 race miles and that's a pretty fast section at least after the Laguna. Maybe closer to 3 hours.

The CK PT closing times for the bikes is earlier than for the cars/trucks due to the difference in starting times. Cocos closing time for bikes is 23:21 Thursday.

Race course version 13:

Always subject to change, but our team may put me out in the silt beds near Punta Conejo to help with extraction (should it become a problem).

Silts sucks, I hate silt. We DNF'd the 89 1000 due to silt getting into the engine north of San Juanico. Did I tell you I hate silt.

I made the mistake of quickly locating and extracting the team owner from a silt bed in the '10 1000, 50 miles from the finish (he subsequently finished first in class). Ditto in early '11 at the south end of Laguna Salada. For good or bad, I seem to always get assigned to Silt Duty.

I hope your team really appreciates what you are doing for them as I'm sure they do. Is the Cops team using Checker Pits or a combination of other pits too?

Think the race may be grandfathered, as it existed long, long before there was ever a 'protected area'.

First I have heard of it, and since the race starts tomorrow morning, you may be too late?

Millions of dollars to Mexican citizens will probably outweigh damage to a cactus, given that millions of cactus (including giant cardon and cirios) were destroyed in building Hwy. 1, in 1973.

At least dirt roads, the race uses, are environmentally friendly and more natural!
