Hiking and backpacking via public transportation

I'm looking for day hikes or overnight backpacking that I can access with public transportation and short taxi rides from the border to Ensenada. I'm comfortable traveling through Mexico but unfortunately do not have a car.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Rot-
Appreciate your adventurous spirit but mostly houses and people between TJ and Ensenada. Go a little further south and you will have more fun and adventure. The real Baja starts below El Rosario.

Roterkis:
You can get from the border to Ensenada by bus then microbus south to maneadero then on to the punta Banda area by another microbus. A couple campgrounds at the beach in that area with great hiking in the hills or down the beach.

I would bus down highway 3 from Tecate to Francisco Zarco then hike to Ensenada through Baja's wine country.........

I guess Martyman doesn't think the Guadalupe Valley is real Baja,LOL

There is a San Diego Transit bus route from El Cajon to Tecate weekdays.
