Getting ready to go with a question or two
Our beautiful North Coast winter weather is gonna change to the usual winter wet, so we're outa here on Monday for Bahia de Los Angeles and environs.
One question that I'm sure someone can answer:
Last year we went from BOLA to San Francisquito and out to Guerrero Negro. After we got back someone mentioned a shortcut to Highway 1 if you wanted
to head to Mulege and south rather than go all the way back to Guerrero Negro. I'm pretty sure I saw the road as it was as travelled as the road
west, and it turned south staying in the arroyo rather than climb up to the flats and heading west. How would I identify it if we were coming back
from Mulege abd wanted to head to San Francisquita and BOLA from that direction? Is there a km post of a gps coordinate anyone has?
We'll be around until the 15 th of January or so - grey ford F-150 with camper shell, three dogs - I'll be the guy drinking beer and eating fish
tacos!

Send a U2U to David K. He knows where that road is.
Also, there is a group of posters here that is meeting in Camp Gecko in Bahia de Los Angeles for the New Years shindig. You should look them up.

Got the directions
Thanks - David K sent me the gps points. If we go to Bahia de Los Angeles first we'll look everyone up at Gecko - we stay at Campo Archelon.

Glad you got it where I replied to the question over on Fred's board.
I just looked at my notes from that trip, and the Guillermo Prieto road is 6.5 miles northbound from the Vizcaino Pemex, where you begin the shortcut
to San Francisquito/L.A. Bay.
The auto club's newest map and book now shows the road continuing north from Guillermo Prieto... But, they only show it to the intersection with the
Santa Gertrudis/El Arco road, and not the next part going to the El Arco/San Francisquito road (which on their map intersects at the Arroyo
Purificacion crossing).

Gee, get a new Garmin eTrex... I bet they are under a hundred now.. I know the Garmin Gecko is way under 100. There are cheap prices on the Internet
for GPSs... Do you need some links to the GPS stores?
