Name that fish

Anybody know the name of this one?

silvery blue-green top ... tiny dorsal fin way back ... yellow marks on gill flaps

cleaning table remarks: scaly, rib bones, black belly lining

If I ever knew the name I forgot it.
thanks

How big?

Ladyfish much larger and big mouth. Fun on light gear with a lot of jumping and throwing hooks.

Jack smelt. We caught a bunch of them last year. Fun on real light tackle.
