Dentist-Los Algodones

Can anyone recommend a Dentist in Los Algodones? We are leaving in about a week heading to Baja and just had a tooth act up! We are planning on crossing at Los Algodones anyway heading south so it would be convenient. The dentist here wants and arm and a leg to do a crown! Thanks, if anyone has experience. If not and you have a recommendation for GN or somewhere else please share.

Algodones has many excellent dentists. Check their Internet web sites for their qualifications, most are from USA. Prices are very reasonable.

Our own dentist is Eva Urena, we have been with her for several years and the treatment is world class.

I've been using this dentist over the past 5-6 years very good in my opinion very reasonable prices. Cash only but 1/3 the price of US dentists. Clean offices professional staff.

We use Jabal

They have 4 offices in town. I believe the biggest problem you'll have is running the gauntlet of dental hawkers between you and your intended Dentist as you cross the border. This time of year it will take a bit longer to cross back to the US side due to all the shopping bags of boose coming north. Not to say all the Canada and northern state folks drink a lot.

PS

You'll want to plan on two days. The crowns are made in town of course, but it takes 6 to 8 hours to get it back from the crown maker. New crowns have always required us two different days in the chair.

Hi Roger,
I am a 52 yr old teacher in Gilroy, CA. I have been going to the same dentist at "Dental Solutions" (Xochipilli Bojorquez) in Los Algodones. She has also treated my 82 year old father. I have had bridges, a root canal,a partial, a crown, and three implants. Dr. Xochipilli is a warm, caring person with a clean clinic. She will fill out your insurance forms and give you your xrays and records if you want them. Her prices are about 1/8 of USA prices.

She have taken refresher courses in several prestigious institutions including Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Don't forget your passport. I think you need it to get back into the U.s.

Good Luck!

My late father hated everything about Mexico.....
except his dentista in Algodones.
He swore by the quality of the work, drove down often from his winter home in La Quinta.
Wish I knew the name, and the Old Man has been gone ten years.
But he sure liked the work.

Roger- still have the place down by Doc?
Came by to see you and Frank (Double Nothing) last year but you were all out of town....

If you want to know who is the best dentist in town, just ask any dentist, and they will tell you that they are it. No problem. The best dentist is the one who makes their patients feel good. Has nothing to do with expertise or experience. Having said that, if you want a denture, partial or other prosthesis made, have the person who makes 20 a week, not 20 per year.
