Fun thread. Great comments and thoughts from the past. Though I gotta say Dennis and his poodle comment will be tough to beat! If he only had a Ralph Steadman with him to draw the scene...

well.....I have seen pictures of a certain Mulege area wedding that featured a very tongue in cheek Killer Cain dressed in drag and getting hitched. Pompano knows this and likely has pics.:lol:

Mike....you might mean the time Killer and I fell in love.

or...the time Killer got married and I gave away the bride.

..then again, there was that ceremony with Killer's gerbil...but that's a whole different story.

GEEZ. Why don't you just sit in your double wide trailer in the desert and pleasure yourself. Who gives a crap about who loves who?

On Thanksgiving I give thanks that Bill only writes in nonsensical gibberish that no one can really understand...

Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving............

At this stage in life, every day is OK.

And, a surprise.

As to those who lack understanding.............comprehension requires Intellect.

But, you wouldn't understand.

It's much more tolerant, as you might imagine, in the large cities than in the rural areas. Nowhere is that more visible than in Jalisco. Guadalajara has a huge gay community and a gayborhood located off Juárez and Federalísimo. Outside of the metro area, though, you're pretty much in Mexican Texas, with macho macho men and their incredibly beautiful wives, the kind of place where when the church bells ring the 15-minute warning everything shuts down for Mass.

Mexico City, of course, has the Zona Rosa and there are signs in a vast majority of the businesses that talk about not discriminating.

Tijuana has a gay community too but it's a little bit more spread-out. There's not a gayborhood in TJ, but there are clubs and businesses and the wealthier the area, the more tolerant and accepting they are.

They say third time's the charm, unfortunately that wont apply here. I guess we have some " good ole boys " in the local government that aren't ready for this...

The signature issue made me think but the bomb threat was pretty weak......I personally have no issue with gay marriage and one day it will be no big deal in Mexico or the U.S.

The good ole boys will die off and it will happen.

All of this has raised some questions. Do we have to stay within our own species?

Oops, make that a tiger by it's tail

Ken Follet has a new book in a trilogy series called, "Edge of Eternity" and it has a appropriate quote. "Political Discussions: They usually have easy answers; Send all the Mexicans home, put Hells Angels in the Army, and castrate the queers. The greater their ignorance, the stronger their opinions".

Personal opinion: If you don't approve of gay marriage..don't marry a gay person!!
