Road from Ensenada to highway3?
Anyone have any updates on the road that comes out just as you enter the Tecate wine rout from Ensenada. Stopped and spoke to a women yesterday who
has a cheese shop next to the road and she said that this road,which is not officially open, but is being used can be taken directly from Ensenada.
Does anyone know where you access it from in Ensenada? She also said ultimately it will go all the way to Maneadero. Basically bypassing all Ensenada
for anyone going South. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Truck Bypass Route
The "bypass" road is still under construction and only open for locals along the construction route/area at the present time, not through traffic. It
is intended to divert truck traffic around Ensenada

Any idea when that will be open? (I know, "mañaaana....) It will be a blessing for avoiding the thump-a-thumps through 10 miles of Ensenada with
truck and rig. Not to mention 45 minutes from Hwy 1 north jct. to Maneadero, on a good day. I've been wondering what that huge road-cut was about.
I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

When you come out Mex. 3 in El Sauzal, go into Ensenada.
I've gotten on Hwy 3 toward the mountains from ensenada two ways. The easiest, but adds about 4 miles, is to go down south the main drag, but instead
of turning left at the signal with the OXXO on the corner that you usually would do to get to the road that travels south, stay right - which is a
newer, wide street, that loops back west, and then north onto Hwy. 3. There are signs. The other way - one which used to be easy, but has gotten
cluttered and slower with traffic, is to drive north through the business district. When you're coming into Ensenada on Mex. 1, just past the harbor,
but before you turn right on the main street that is by the fish market pier, got straight ahead through the traffic signal. It will eventually meet
the aforementioned street that goes into Mex. 3. It doesn't look much like a major aterial right out of town - it has a lot of junk yards and tire
shops, and goes uphill, and is winding.

It ends by the reservoir near Calle Ambar. Trucks will use it to bypass Centro Ensenada and cars will use it too. It will reach Maneadero shortly
after the Scenic Highway has reopened.

so can one (tourists) use it ? or not recommended at this time ? I too hate the drive through Ensenada - Maneadero

It is not open now. only the locals who live near the route can use it for access to their homes and town

You can see this new bypass highway on Bing, aerial view (not "bird's eye view") being built from Hwy. 3 (to Tecate section) to just past the Ensenada
reservoir.
When it connects to the other Hwy. 3 (to San Felipe section), the two Hwy. 3s will finally touch each other! It will also be a super way to get
through Ensenada if you are headed east or south of San Felipe.
