Removing my own new topic

I recently started a poorly thought out new topic, and tried to delete it using the edit function. All I was able to do was delete my own text which framed the topic, leaving one reply that made even less sense without the lead in.
Is it possible for the author to delete the entire thread after it is posted?
Correct answers are welcome from anyone who who has one.
Thanks

Thanks Diana, I thought that was the case. It is on the way to a slow death, unless someone reads it and bumps it back to the top with a WTF?

Go to your post, hit the purple Report button up in the top right corner, and ask Doug to pull it for you.

Say please like your mama taught ya'!

Should do it!
