INEGI
Can some one give me the street address for INEGI in Mexicali so I can obtain some missing maps from my collection?
I cannot figure it out from their web site.

When you go to the INEGI office and select your topo maps, they will put many on a disk for you. You can select a smaller area on your computer and
print the map.

Sure enough all the INEGI map info is all digital and one has to download for the map of your choice.
I went to the office and after getting thru security they gave me detailed instructions and made me a DVD for the maps I need in PDF format. The the
nice lady went upstairs and found the last paper maps I wanted. All the other bins were empty. She found 2 maps out of my 11 requested.
Next issue is you get a choice for the download new vs old
Old. Old means Datum NA27-Mexico. New means Datum ITRF92. Of course old also means older build date for the data.
A quick search I found that WGS84 will give the same result as ITRF92. That means a point on the map with the same coords then when you go travel to
the point on the ground you will find it.
So if you have the latest from INEGI with ITRF92 you can read coords and put them in your GPS set for WGS84 and no converting - A good deal for us map
plotters.
Want paper maps just go to the $copy store$ with your DVD and specify the size you want. The data is in color.

INEGI Map Download instructions
Stay with me in Spanish
Go to inegi.org.mx
Mouse on Geografia
Mouse on Temas
Mouse on Topografia
Click on Cartas topograficas
In the clave box enter your map number like H11B36
Click Consuiltar
Bottom of page is your map choices
Click on the pdf symbol for the newest version
2003 ITRF92 and let the file go to the desktop
Keep clicking until the desktop file looks like a PDF color picture. Duh
Try this
Double click on the file and then select to choose the application then choose PDF
Close the error messages and open the file on your desktop and view the topo map.
Use the usual PDF featured to get the zoom level and location you want.
