A Baja Weekend at Gavi's

We headed down for Valentine's Weekend and stayed at Casa de Nomad Terry28. It was great! Super clean and he even left me a free beer in the fridge!

Had some time to catch up on some reading

Cool rocks

Whale watching

Nice view on the new deck.

Homemade Huevos Rancheros. Thanks wife.

That glass is huge. We split the margarita

Till the next weekend................

Yeah, they were working on it full blast when we were there. Place was packed with ex-pats and Mexican locals. That says a lot.

Thanks for comments all.

Terry, I was talkin' about the lady at the tile place that BornFisher mentioned. But sounds like Magdalena is awesome too. =)

Is Krishnamurphy a play on J. Krishnamurti? I remember digging his books in my 20's.

Nice! That right is super fun when it's working. I always stop at Charley's for grub before heading to the border...and use the wifi to see where I want to cross, SY vs Otay.

Sweet! I keep saying it would be fun to hang out in that area for a weekend. My grandparents had a place they would go to each weekend on the north side of Fox Studio. I had so much fun as a kid. Now it seems like I always blast through that area headed south. With the shorter border wait times, I'd like to explore a bit and maybe even rent a place for a few nights. Thanks for sharing.

DENNIS,

I would like to learn the name if anyone knows it. Almost looks like a succulent in the green below, but I doubt it.

Anyone?

Thanks for the kind comments all.

Bajaboy, yeah, I understand blowing thru here if you're headed south, but like you said, with border wait times way down, heading into this area even for dinner and shopping makes sense.

Jon

The plant is very common ground cover. Not a true ice plant, I think its lampranthus or something like that. You see it on hills all over SoCal.
