Newbie Intro

Greetings to All,

Longtime lurker who is from SoCal who took a job in Calgary. Now I miss Baja so much I need to be at least able to talk about it.
My family has had home in Bajamar since 1985, before that we were long time patrons @ Quintas Paagayo in Ensenada.

Old Favorite food: fish tacos cooked on top of an oil drum, old school style @ the Ensenada fish market.;)

Current favorite: Carne Asada Tortas from Los Mejores in Cantamar

I am also addicted to my SENTRI more than any other vice

Last item;
I have also spent some crazy times with crew @ Muzik Mountain.

Where is that place?

Welcome!
Does Walt Hussong still own the place? Met him back in 2003... super nice guy from a famous family in Baja.

You should get your Baja fix here... just ignore the un-Nomad like activity that has been known to occur! LOL

Welcome to BajaNomad, Sr. Ted.
You'll notice when you read the site rules that you're supposed to send me three cases of Pacifico, and then I'll send you a youtube video showing the secret handshake, along with your decoder ring.
Room temp will be just fine.

I thought you were buying Dennis!
Welcome Ted to the posters side of the sandbox. Next time you are down try the fish taco stand in El Sauzal at the north end of town, last one on the inland side. Very good!!!

Welcome Ted!

Yes, Nomad can be a good way to keep from going cold-turkey when not able to be in Baja.

Wow- Calgary? Do they still do the Stampede? And have they built more of those lovely rooftop gardens with roofs that open and close depending on seasons? (I was impressed by how the city adapts to the weather when I visited many years ago)

Enjoy the 2nd hand Baja-high!

Let us know when you plan to head south again.

I would just like to know if the fabled bad fish taco even exist? Kind of like the chupacabra! Still waiting for an answer on that one as well.

David,
My father (a Dane from Peru) used to drink Pisco Sours @ the restaurant that was next to Quintas Papagayos in what they said @ the time (about 1969) was the worlds smallest bar with Walts mother, I believe she was a Norwegian.

That must be where Sano's sits today. That's a Hussong steak house. Very popular joint for the locals with AmEx cards.
