Help build an eco -resort
We are still holding onto our property ensenada blanca . Anyone want to join up and build a small eco danzante type resort ?
7 acres on private beach .

I love that part of Baja! What level of participation is required, and what sort of benefit would be realized?

We all know what happened to Danzante courtesy of the Villa Group. Methinks you ought to look elsewhere.
That said, the Villa property has been struggling simply because of the availability of flights to Loreto and its distance from town.

The mini "Eco resort" Ecomundo on Concepcion bay flourished for a while and faded away....enjoyed it in it's various re incarnations.....Met a lot of
nice folks there

Yes, chuckie... Ecomundo was a nice place to stop in for a beer, sandwich, and a talk. Ranger Roy, his Thai bride, and a few other characters of the
finest kind. Unfortunately it did not last long enough. Like a lot of start-ups in the Mulege area, you just got used to it, then in wink of an
eye..it was gone.
I wish greater success for liqui's project. It seems to be in a more populated area and should draw more clients.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Bajahowodd , i already have the property why would i look else where . Danzante was bought out by the villa group for over 5 million dollars . I'd not
unhappy if that happened to me .
Very glad we are out of town and we will see what we will see .
Should be fun trying .

the eco resort was a 80's 90's concept...
Danzante was built during that era...don't hold your breath having the villa group buying you out
I wonder if an eco resort would even draw people today
It was before the internet
People today need "action" and technology
and things now are way more expensive to build and "staff"
what would the ROI be on an investment like this
Are there ANY eco resorts left in Baja right now...I wonder
I like ligui's "out of the box" thinking but I think its an old plan that just never took off
maybe build an assisted housing development for "old guys"
those make a ton of money and they seem to always be full

Good comments! I don't know of any "eco' sites in Baja, younger folk don't seem to care.....Your last thought was a good one....And I think could be a
money maker....Lots of us are getting old (er) I turned 80 2 weeks ago, and are concerned about going back to Baja alone....Be interesting to put a
trial balloon out there and see if they was much interest...I would be interested.I'll try to put together some thoughts on requirements for old
guys...Thanks

Thanks whale-ista. I guess I'd like better a geezer resort like Bob and Susan and Chuckie are talking about.
Shade palapas with zero gravity lounge chairs. example
Rental boats with steering wheels and motors.
A tiki bar, heavily shaded with a gentle breeze blowing through and umbrella drinks. example
Somebody else to go to town for supplies and find firewood for campfires.
A supply of old boating and sportsman magazines.
Walking paths between buildings with solid footing to prevent capsizes. Especially to and from the tiki bar.
A billiards table for exercise.
Lots of comfortable chairs.
No noise, ever.

yeah, whalista, most of us old geezers don't want "spa services" and "yoga classes"....we want peace and quiet and no close neighbors...spa
services?????....really????...i don't want to see another human being let alone a spa instructor.

If anyone could develop a few small (in terms of resident population) well designed and operated assisted living/senior housing facilities in Baja
that would incorporate SFandH's suggestions, they could probably make a pile of cash,

Johns house and prop is one of the most "Stunning" view's I have seen in Baja,, bar none !! I don't think for a second he wants to make a killing (aka
buck's) more like he love's the place (me too) and want's to do something with/for it.....
