Symbols of Poland


Poland is so beautiful and atypical in many ways. I must post some pictures of the two symbols I most associate with this country.
The first is storks. There are storks everywhere! Some houses have two nests on the roofs. Seems they are not as territorial as the aguila pescadoras we have in La Bocana. It also seems that the storks add to the nest every year as some are quite high:






























The 2nd symbol are the mayday poles that are in front of every village. Most are clearly religious but some are simply decorative. I want one for our village in Baja......

Thanks for the photos, Blanca. The stork's nests are pretty large, and they do the same as the eagles in Alaska. I think they may be the same size (around 6' to 7' across.
