how to secure a hotel room door

What could you bring along to make it hard for someone to open the door of your room while you are sleeping? You are tired, and need some sleep. The woodychucks of Baja could be prowling the halls. You want to feel safe er .

Any Ideas?

Maybe you should consider staying in nicer hotels.

I had to go to Laughlin, NV once for my sons Birthday. He was going up with a bunch of friends and I drove up to meet them. The only place I could find a room was the original Pioneer Hotel. DUMP does not describe this place. It was really bad and dark. The room I got was from the 70's and the door lock did not work. I had to use the chair in the door method to secure the room. or at least make enough noise to wake me up before I got my head cut off.

Wood wedge. Light and easy to throw in your bag. Also doubles as kindling if needed.

Many moons ago I took umpteen fishing trips to Palmas Bay and usually stayed at Palmas de Cortez. Then there were no keys to the rooms, no locks. It was a grand time back then. I was usually able to steal enough jewelry, money and fishing gear to pay for the whole trip.

Did the house get a cut?

How about cold beers, surely nobody left them unguarded!

In Tj they arrest you for a knife with a blade of 4 cm.

I tried a drywall screw between door and door jam. Not perfect but it is something.

Woodchucks are for eating and Groundhogs are for predicting the weather. When we killed groundhogs for sport and to prevent cattle from breaking their legs stepping into their burroughs we just let them lay but if someone decided to take one home to cook it suddenly became a woodchuck. - true fact

chuckiewoodsie wants to hurt people-ˇ
Dog is good if you have one
what if you do not have one?

It takes less than 1 minute to screew the door shut.
I payd 25 cent for a drywall screw, and $1 for a cheap screw driver.
Not impenetrable, but something

I can leave it behind when the plane takes me home.
I have seen few dogs at the airport though.

Chrisx,
You are an idiot.

P.s. If I was the inn keeper, and you were damaging my hotel by putting screw holes in the door frames, I would beat you with an expanding metal baton, then charge you for the damage (door frame damage and blood stain cleaning), then beat you again just for the fun of it.
