Don't forget the the "Ancianos" at Punta San Jacinto

Heading home from a Baja Fools pit for the #21 Trophy Truck at the Baja 1000 we stopped at the Casa Hogar Los Ancianos near Punta San Jacinto. We brought them several boxes of food. This home for elderly men provides much needed assistance with very limited resources so if you can, take the short drive off of Highway 1 to drop off a few supplies and to say Hola to the guys.
We also got some smiles when we gave them some Los Ancianos Motorcycle Club decals.

Yes, what a great Thanksgiving Spirit!

Lot's of holidays are coming up shortly, even if you do not drive by on Hwy 1,
please make a donation via Paypal, it's soo easy - just a click away.

It's the Holiday Season. If you have a few bucks to spare for a charitable contribution, where even a small donation makes a big difference:

Paypal money to: freelandib222@live.com

I will bump up my monthly donation for this Holiday Season, so the gentlemen at the Casa Hogar Los Ancianos are not left out in the cold.

Thank you all for helping with the wonderful cause, especially Penny, who is their caring angel for sure.

Enjoy these holidays,

Karl

Juan doesn't let anyone get away without taking a couple of pictures! I am sure they loved those decals! And of course all that food.
I remember that you were doing this before Penny found them and what a great idea.

And please, those of you who have met Penny, please don't forget her this holiday season. This year is going to be a really tough one for her.

She is cooking a Turkey today for the grandpas and is going to have them celebrate Thanksgiving with her. :saint:

https://youtu.be/RfwGkplB_sY

"I heard this song in the mid 70's. My grandmother was coming upon on 70 and losing her sight. I was coming up 30. She was becoming increasingly isolated yet still feisty. I lived over 800 miles from her. I made sure to spend time with her and when in town and phoned her more often. But the best thing, I did was make eye contact with older people smiled and said Hello, as matter of habit. Over the thirty years, at bus stops, street corners, line-ups, airports, shopping malls I have some the most delightful, insightful, inspiring and heart-breaking conversations with complete strangers. Saying "Hello in there" has enriched my life. I hope it has provided a moment of dignity and enjoyment to those who shared with me. I think been seen by a younger person just meant a lot to them. Nuggets of wisdom from those conversation come back to me unexpectedly when I have needed them. Thank you to all the "in there's""
