ton 'o cops?

My young son and Mother just got back from a cruise (yesterday) down the Baja Coast. As they arrived in Cabo San Lucas, they noticed, "there was a officer at every corner". Seems that there is an overkill of officers in the town. Anyone knows of this and why (if so)?

Police in San Cabos

YANKEE If you mean Cabo San Lucas, they often post transitos at street corners to help the "Newly Weds" and "Nearly Deads" off the Cruise ships from being run over by the locals who seem to drive aimlessly around town looking for a $1 tragito.

makes sense

yeah...that could be it. My son's Mother is a hard traveler of Mexico and a little of Baja...she just never seen "that many" before.

Copying

Probably copying La Paz?. The main strip there has had a police presence for years, mostly to assist people crossing the street and just keeping the peace?. Not a bad idea IMHO.

Very popular with visitors....
