Weird Boat Trailer?

This might just be the oddest boat trailer I've ever seen. I answered a Craig's List add for a Honda outboard, bought it and then the guy said, "It's a package deal, you have to haul off the boat it was on." Towed fine going down the freeway for 90 miles. Anyone recognize these parts?

Looks like a torsion bar with a coil spring assist. Volkswagen used torsion bars on the front of their vehicles for years.

Off grid, 12-190 watt evergreen solar panels on solar trackers, 2-3648 stacked Outback inverters, 610ah LiFePo4 48v battery bank, FM 60 and MX60 Outback charge controllers, X-240 Outback transformer for 240v from inverters, 6500 watt Kubota diesel generator.

My Myers Manx dune buggy (built on a chopped VW bug) had torsion bar rear suspension (instead of conventional springs). The front had Koni coil-over shocks (springs on the shock).

Ah, that's why it looked vaguely familiar.
