I am probably in the minority here, but having stayed at Baja Cactus several times we found it to be dark, dank, and noisy (the jakebrake of the downhill truckers) Tried to like the place and gave it several attempts, but even with the marble and glass bathrooms, just did not enjoy our stay.

I know that the owner is a Nomad, and the Davidk is a paid spokesperson for the place and the owner, but after years of transiting Baja, and given the fact that the place fills up regularly, we just don't include it in our itinerary.

I think this is a (magic jack) number, and like mine, it works most of the time, and you have to restart the MJ after rebooting the computer (if you remember).

Wodd, this was posted in General Discussion, not 'Hotel Accommodation Critiques'. I'm sure it doesn't live up to your Los Cabos condo-golf resort digs.

For once, STFU......... please.

Odd, seriously... get real... paid spokesman? LOL

I support Baja Cactus because the owner is a good human being who puts so much effort towards his community and his customers.

Antonio provides all the assistance anyone could possibly dream for if they are in need. What other Pemex station or motel in Baja has done so much with such things as emergency ambulance service and now fire service... and does so with honest pumps!

The motel has always been one of the most amazing places and ranks above most places costing twice as much or more in Mexico or the U.S.

That he consistently is filled means he needs no more promoting, but at least, fill up your vehicles there and help his ambulance service, as you never know when you may need it? Los Pinos has great tomatoes, but get your gas at Baja Cactus and support a Nomad business!

"the most amazing places? you need to get out more often. There is a lot more to Hotel Santa Maria than tomatoes. I am not here to keep Nomads in business. You still getting a kickback?

Jardines is harder to get into. I still get into Baja Cactus in a pinch....and always give for the ambulance, unlike our most vocal supporter.

My impression too: dark, dank and noisy, and I've written that before. Obviously, it's popular and this stuff doesn't bother most people. Isn't a deal breaker for me but let's not pretend it doesn't have a down side. Even if it doesn't bother everyone.

US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.

What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

Baja Cactus is a nice place to stay in the middle of nowhere. some of the showers showing their age, some thievery in the past in the parking lot .at the bottom of a noisy grade without a good restaurant to eat at..but good beds.

30 miles away. Santa Maria with a nice restaurant and bar, on the beach, more rooms, and better beds.

also jardines.. nice beds and great restaurant...or go out to the old mill.

Other options with great service through out San Quintin Valley. But they are not Nomad members.

Don't let the anti-amigos chase you away. It used to be a place to make friends, now there's a few who can't wait to be unfriendly. It's like a schoolyard instead of an episode of Cheers.

Yes the Kum ba Ya chicken coup gang just aint the same. Some of us actually go to Baja often.
