Daily c-cktails and fishing lies told. Beautiful setting gated,private with full time care taker. couple lots on the Rio fish from your patio with

Goat, La Fortuna is on the east side of central Mulege and on the north side of the river. It's a pretty, well landscaped, small development of maybe
20 or so gringo houses. I've thought about buying there but haven't because flooding is a problem.
Good spot for an RV that you can haul to higher ground during the summer storm season. It's a great location for those that like to be within walking
distance of the town.
IMHO, RV spots are a reasonable use of Mulege riverfront property.

If goat knew ANYTHING about anything, he'd know where Saul's Tienda is in Mulegé, and what's just across the street. Goat proves again what goat
really knows.
However, on that note; one who knows Mulegé knows that getting an RV of any size whatsoever into town is one thing; moving it out is another. The
old-timers' source of entertainment was watching class A or C motorhomes come down the main hill into town, then trying to navigate back out again.
If you don't know the town, let's just suffice to say it's a ......... challenge......
And where do you go to 'high ground' from La Fortuna? Beautiful place, I grant that, but half that part of town floods from mud from above, as well
as the Estrero filling up Saul's with 4' of water and mud. Yes, great place; but plan your evacuation route well. A few more years without a big
storm, no one will remember, and sales will flourish.
Honestly Amigobaja, I truly love the town. How does one get a decent size RV out of there?
I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

Best way to leave La Fortuna with an RV is to just drive past Danny's taco stand on Romero Rubio, go straight and turn left onto Zaragoza to go under
the bridge. Plenty of room for that. All paved concrete.
And there is room in the park here down by the river to turn large rigs/trailers around.
We get big rigs in this end of town from time to time, lowboys, semis. The local police are cooperative and lead them back out against the one-way,
so no turns at all. Takes 5 mins. No big deal.

La Fortuna campsites
My first house here was a 40ft park model that I towed straight into the park. My neighbor at the time had a 42ft diesel pusher that they drove in and
out. They would arrange with the locale police a 7am escort out the one way street. The locale police was very accommodating and my neighbor was happy
to donate to their annual christmas party. They also bring the huge beer trucks into the same area. Can you imagine the outrage if they did not
deliver !! Our property values would drop worse then they already have. Viva La Revolution.

Driving in and out to La Fortuna w/ an RV is still a nightmare - no matter what is told here for a PR reason. But my question is: Why paying
$300/month for a starter spot when I can get better access properties in the Orchard or in the Oasis or in Marie Isabelles and others for $100 less?
Just as an example. Same w/ that RV property offered formerly owned by Don and Donna Garcia. That guy is asking $400. Why, if I can get better lots
cheaper? BTW, for $100 any beer truck delivers to any spot in Mulege the amount of beer which I can not drink in a month!

You're right it could be a nightmare for some. Some people just should not own an Rv if La Fortuna is a nightmare. They should stay on Hwy 5 and park
with the cheap bastards in Walmart parking lots for free.
When I stay in a Marriott I expect Marriotts price. When I stay in Motel 6 I expect Motel 6 price. Living on the other side of the river would
definitely be Motel 6 compared to La Fortuna.

Well, well, well, comparing Santa Rosalia with Mulege is comparing cow chit with perfume, IMHO. SR is the most stinky town in all of Baja - Norte
including. In the evening they are releasing all the sewer out of a holding tank. The outlet is just next to the INM and runs from there along the
INM-building on tzhe surface into the (so called) harbor. I like Mulege as a town. Nobody should be surprised about that! (I just do not like
dishonest people trying to pull others over the table. That`s why I am criticizing some folks here in BajaNomad) But O.K.! It`s just a matter of
taste! LOL

OK, update with some pics!...
Create your own corona moments spending the winter in a small garden like palm tree covered park.
This gem is hidden downtown Mulege Baja Sur Mx. on the Mulege River.
Walk to restaurants, bars, laundry, hardware and cheaper then Kmart trinket stores. Outside this gated park is a American style grocer and Baja's
famous Danny's Tacos.
All sites are full hookup, safe and secure with full time maintenance crew.
Happy hour and fish tales daily. Well mannered dogs( and owners) welcome. Sites avail by the month, season or if we like you possible long term lease.
The rents are different for all four based on the features and location in the park.
One site in the middle of the park with a large parking slab and full hookups is 200 US per month.
The second site is 250 US but it is on the Rio. The site with a bath and small storage is one lot up from the Rio and its 300 US and our top shelf
site with all the goodies is 350US.
The rates include your elec., water and right outside our entry gate the city picks up our garbage two or three times a week.There really is not a bad
site and all are easy to get into.

I own an underwater home in Mulege as well. Love that town for sure. The RV sites look great and are in a beautiful location. Being able to walk
into town in the evening is a big plus. Not to mention impaired kayaking at night from your front yard. Bring a flashlight, shine it on the water in
front of you, and watch the Pargo jump all around your boat.
Go through town on foot first to figure out all of the unmarked one way streets and tight corners. Once you know your way it is tight but you will
figure it out with your RV. If the Tecate beer truck can get in there, an RV will make it.

Mulegé historically flood every fifty years. However, the past few dozen years it has been more frequent!

More like Three or four almost right in a row. Old hardliners who had been there for years cleaned up after the first few floods but gave up and left
after being hit repeatedly. I’m sure others can elaborate more on this. I had just finished 2 houses by the Serenidad and had a buyer for one right
before the first flood. Had very little damage when the first floods hit but that was the end of any buyers. They have been for sale ever since with
no takers.
