good morning 8/30/16

We've had a couple of dry hot days with a light north breeze. Not as hot as it could have been so still haven't needed the AC. Mornings a cool 80º.This is the time that I should be seeing sardines working out front and there usually are some sardine boats working outside the mouth of Conception. So far no sign of any sardines and only one small trawler in for a couple days. I was just talking with some neighbors about how quiet it is here. There aren't any campers or fishermen like there were a few years ago. I haven't even seen the locals out netting. Oh well.......

I am loving this cool summer too over here on the Pacside! The water temp dropped again yesterday to around and maybe even a bit under 70! La Nina is sweet and the fishing coops are pleased with the cooler water which is better for the abalone and lobster...but the yellowtail disappeared the last couple day which sucks.

There are fewer sportfishermen here too I figure because the fishing is just so darn good in California.
