Remote Security web Camera's??
So our home is off grid with solar in Punta Chivato. With satellite internet is it possible to have several camera's up around the house and property
that could send images a few times a day that we could get off of the internet? This would be a lot less for security and more just to have way to
check in from time to time when no one is there.
This is what I was thinking
1. We have internet Satellite probably need to upgrade
2. We have a computer connected to Satellite internet
3. I was thinking 3 or four wireless camera's around the house connected to computer.
4. When no one is there for weeks at a time is there a way to set up computer and system to run and upload pictures a couple times a day?
5. If we lose power (shouldn't happen with no one using power at the home) and computer system shuts down can it be restarted automatically?
Any thoughts or advice would be great.

You could rig something up, probably buy it. A webcam system. But a low voltage system like that outside in the salt air probably wouldn't last long
without frequent maintenance. You would definitely need to pay attention to sealing it from the elements.
In my opinion which is based upon living on the beach for a looooong time.

I have a netcam by belkin camera. It is wifi and I used it in the house for a while and now it is on the patio under a patio cover. I open the app on
my phone or iPad and watch in real time what is going on.
It is very cool.
You can save video clips somehow, but I was not interested in that feature so I didn't read about it.

there are systems on Amazon that are motion activated and will send you an email or text when its activated. not that you could do anything about it
but if you could call a neighbor down the road..... set up an uninterruptible power supply for when the turd cuts your power and you'd still have an
hour or so of video footage, maybe more.

I have a system on my house and have used it for 3 years and it works well. Use mastic, which comes in a roll, when you install on all connections.
My cameras are under the eaves and are on the porch, so they do not get much in the way of corrosion. The draw is not very high, so when your
refrigerator and other things are not running, you should not have a problem with the draw.
I have been able to cover my house and situation with 4 cameras with no problem. There is a big difference with cameras and how well they pick up
available light. I had some cheap cameras and they did not pick up on available light, but the new upgrades do a great job.

Many of the new systems have speakers that when the camera kicks on and you do not recognize the person you could ask what the hell they wanted and
who they were. They would have no idea where you are. Many of these use infrared cameras that are really good at night. And they are fairly cheap for
what you get.

Free Yawcam software with a webcam. Can set up for motion activation or schedule then it will email you the photos automatically. Or a weather station
with camera?

Check your upload speed before getting too carried away. Upload is a smaller amount than down load.
We had a hard time with internet phone. Patience may not be enough.
Sending video or even pictures suck it up.
Just a thought
