Baja Before & After photos

David K suggested the idea of sharing some before and after pics so I thought it would be a fun new thread...here is a photo of our place La Bufadora Inn when I first married Juan in 2005 and he started working on the place....and what it is today.

and today with 6 rooms added on...& the outhouse eliminated

your turn.....

Does Juan still gather rock for construction or other building materials too?
I especially like the penthouse suite?

rock gathering is part of our life now...hahaha...yes we have come a log way through hard work and determination and thanks to our Nomad amigos who visit us!
When I moved in...we had an outhouse, no shower, no water....we brought water in barrels and only an extension cord to the fishing coop for power so no fridge or appliances...oh and no phone!

I guess the before is the empty lot on the left (mine), upper corner and the after is the neighbor house that was built by the developer as a model.

The neighbors yard next to my lots. If you look close you can see a section of rail from the Old English failed railroad.

Shari,
When I first house-sat for you in 2007 Juan had just done the footings for the first two rooms and it was a real treat for Kathy and I to be among the first to stay in one. I have nothing but admiration for what Juan and you have accomplished. I plan to visit in the next few weeks.

This was an experiment in a secret and magical water hole in Baja. I wll only give the spot up when I learn where all these secret surfing spots are!

Sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself now that after years I know how to post pictures. Sorry if this slight hijack "ruffled any feathers."

I'll try to make this short;)
My friend was building a bulkhead across his property with the intention of back filling it for lots to sell and I asked him "why not build a big boathouse and save all the back fill?" (I already had a home so wasn't interested in a second). He then asked, "How big do you want your boathouse?" Well, we made a deal and the rest is history. I now live on my boathouse lot...
