RV overnighting near Mulege, Loreto
It's been several years since my last RV trip south. Is the Tripui campground still open for overnighters? Last time I was there 2007 it was open
but pretty beat up.
Also any other recommendations for an overnight in Mulege or Loreto. I have a cabover truck camper towing a utility trailer and my amigo has a
pick-up towing a 35 foot 5th wheel.

Depending on what services you need, you might try Buenaventura. Nathan is a great host, there is good food and cold beer

for mulege overnite...
i'd gas at the Pemex...they have a store there now too
then off to santispac (12miles south)
there are 2 eating places
wide turn off for the trailer...
lots of space
probably $5 each (guard)
a little road noise
great bay

I agree with Bob, for a overnight stop Santispac is hard to beat for convenience and the beauty of the bay.

As of early Nov, 2016 -
The original RV park at Tripui is closed. (The entrance was west of the driveway to the residential area)
However, the hotel area has parking and electrical/water hookups for a few units. (The hotel entrance is east of the residential area)
We parked there with a truck/trailer combo but actually stayed in one of the hotel rooms. Two other rigs were hooked up to electrical. Secure area
with a full time night guard, quiet, you get to use the pool and hotel grounds, good restaurant.
Loreto -
Loreto Shores RV has sites behind the waterfront condos. Not too appealing.
Riviera RV would be REALLY tight with a 35 ft 5th wheel. Might have to back it in all the way from the street.
Mulege -
Santispac is always good.
Serenidad is okay. Shower bldg was not available the last time we were there.
We have stayed at all of them at one time or another.

I don't know where RnR got his information from concerning the Riviera RV Park in Loreto, as I have been in that park since 2004, big rigs come and go
all the time. There has been no problem getting 45ft motorhomes into that park and you can drive right in from the street. Park is very clean,
restrooms are cleaned every day and they have Hot Showers. Over Nighters are always welcomed here.. Shopping and restaurants are close by as well..

Riviera RV park IS a nice park. We have stayed there four or five times over the years. And, yes, the bathrooms are spotless with plenty of hot
water.
All I said was that, "maneuvering room is tight".
We have a 30 ft travel trailer pulled by a four door, full size truck.
At Riviera, you drive in through the gate , turn to the right, and jackknife your rig back into the overnight spaces. This works well, IF, there are
no boats on trailers, empty trailers, or other vehicles in the way!
The park has been somewhat congested EVERY time that we have been there.
And, for what it is worth, most 45 ft motorhomes can back up and turn tighter than a 56 ft truck/trailer bumper pull combo.

I don't see a problem with a 30' either and I've been there when it's been empty a few times. But I've been there when it's been packed -- as in a
caravan with big Class A's and no vacancies.
Call or show up to see how it looks. Desert Inn parking lot is an option if you dry camp.
