TOM (TMW) and ROY (The squarecircle) December Trip Live, Daily Spot

Tom called me yesterday on his way south to meet up with Roy to give me his trip plan and say I could share the locations from his Spot signals so all our Baja Nomad amigos could follow their progress. As usual, they are Nomad Santa Clauses bringing nice things south and doing some exploring, too.

Tecate 10:48am Friday Dec. 9, 2016

Rancho Santa Veronica 12:34pm

Sierra Juarez 1:36pm

That's what has come in so far today (Friday).

Good to hear that they are being spotted! He stopped by my mom's house which means he is headed this way too - safe travels.

Do you have lat/lon for his locations? I'd like to zoom in on a sat view to see what's going on (the paper version doesn't give me enough information).

Well, he did say it was okay to post live, but I really didn't intend to show that close up in case any banditos are monitoring, lol!

I have been removing the box on the map that gives the GPS, except (as you can see) on the first map.

I am not sure how many are interested in seeing how they travel down Baja, nor can I do this every day so soon after I get the notification.

Tomorrow, Baja Angel and I celebrate 12 years since we met!

Here's TW's last Spot for Friday, Dec. 9, 2016...

For sure!
I admire him for having the freedom to go as often as he does... and his wife, Shirley, being so cool about it.

I just edited my previous post to include TW's final Spot for the day, about 7 pm.

Hi everyone, we stayed in the El Capitan hotel and had a great steak dinner at El Ninos last night. Roy is having some issues with some caution lights coming on. They all appear to be associated with his stability control and not with his cooling system which is good.

We are headed to Cocos, then Ponchos, then the NWT if Roy's Land Rover is OK other wise it is to Blancas from El Barril. It's been fun so far even with Roy's car issues.

Thanks for writing Tom!
I heard that the stupid Land Rover was acting up again... It was so cool when it was new and went to Mission Santa María with ease, in 2007.
However, either all the tough Baja trips or just the poor quality of Rover vehicles has sure made it a horrible experience for Roy the past few trips!

About 20 minutes ago, the first Spot for today, switching to satellite view because the map is so bad at Gonzaga Bay:

TW and Roy left Coco's Corner at 2:27pm and arrived at Hwy. 1 in 30 minutes at 2:57 (just a few minutes ago)... That's 26 mph avg. for a Tacoma and an LR-3.

A short time ago, a new Spot came in from south of El Barril.

A new signal at 3:59pm, same region.

Here they were at 3:59pm Sunday... just SW of Cabo San Miguel on the No Wimps Trail, in Arroyo Santa Barbara:
