Ho Ho Ho...Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all!

Juan & I took a wee vacation to the other side last week and it got me in the Christmas spirit. This ditty is about our stay in Mulege where we visited first with Mark & Nathan at Buenaventura...what a neat place and the rental houses are beautiful beachfront places!

After some chin wagging at the bar we headed over to Playa Escondido for a swim and as luck would have it, there were whale sharks right off the beach so I was able just to swim out to them...pretty darn cool! and the water was beautiful!

Then we headed to La Hacienda which is usually our Mulege hotel choice. I so love that courtyard and being in town...we were the only people there.

I was delighted to see the Santa Claus parade which consisted of hundreds of Santas of all sizes....it really put me in the Christmas spirit!

AFter the parade there was a Posada in La Cancha where they had a program and raffled of dozens of beautiful pinatas.

The next day we went to the fundraising brunch for the bomberos at Coyote Beach. It was at Pompano's old digs...sure missed him! There was a raffle too and excellent bar service...hahaha...great bloody marys Nathan!

It's been a long time since I sat on SAnta's knee and I had to remind hiim to be a good boy!

It was howling northerlies so we spent the rest of the day messin around town and were finally able to get a room at Cuesta Real for the night. This is a great place to stay with a nice pool, very quiet and nice to walk on the river...all for only 400 pesos for a double room!!!

Stay tuned for part 2 of our trip up to San Jose de Magdelena!

Ho Ho HO Merry Christmas to all my Nomad peeps and poops!

A couple of my favorites, I think Playa Escondida is the best camping beach on the bay and I share your affection for the Hotel Hacienda. Last month's visit marked my 42nd year since I rolled in to that courtyard on my CB750. No locks on the rooms back then and beer was help yourself and pay up later. Good times.
