As of two days ago the gas station in Puertocitos would only allow you to get 200 pesos worth per day

That is about US$10 or 3.3 gallons!

Looks like the San Felipe PMEX - north side at the glorietta has diesel, per their sign and no barricades.
Water is being delivered. My supplier trucks are all diesel.
No money at the Bancomer ATM. The HSBC ATM has a 1500 peso limit but it works.

Is the whole country like this? No one driving much because uncertain whether fuel will be found along the way?

Woke!

Tankers are rolling again out of Mexicali but it will take a few days to get most of the stations filled including San Felipe.

Gonzaga PEMEX (at Alfonsina's turnoff) had gas on 1/10/2017 as my friends drove from San Felipe on their way to Guerro Negro. I would verify before leaving S.F. to be sure before heading out..

came down 5 today from San Luis.. long lines at stations along 2 then from Mexicali to San Felipe no station was pumping anything... the only one in SF was the one at the round about and only diesel pumps were open.. was told that Gonzoga was dry didn't stop and ask... Talked to folks that got gas at Jesus Maria and we got diesel in GN in town... looked like the one north of the base was open for business.

not much going on with the road,,, 2 asphalt plants working north of COCO but don't know where they were hauling it... no other equipment moving at all... drove on new road bed for aways in the lakebed but no where else... lots of road base down and looks ready for paving...
just another fun day on BAJA.... oh, 1 hour 25 minutes pulling trailer with jeep loaded, not bad,,, not really too rough anywhere today in the 23 miles
good luck with your travels... we are in Mulege tomorrow if you need a cold one...

forgot to mention,,
no protestors, no roadblocks, no yelling,
just looked like a lot of crime scene tape around all the bays at all of the Pemix stations workers sweeping driveways or leaning on pumps staring at the crazy gringo's trying to find fuel..
