moving to La Paz - US car insurance?

If the gasolinazo's permit, we are moving to La Paz, leaving our place in Playas de TJ before February. I am now fully retired! Lived in Playas de TJ for 3 years and crossed every day to work, that is over now, and we are taking a BIG step south. It's going to be so different when I can't simply cross to shop, get money, Dr. appointment, meds, whatever.

Anyhow, do I need to maintain US car insurance to have MX car insurance even if my permanent residence address is in La Paz?
