Los Chibatos Restaurant - Punta Chivato

We spent last weekend in Punta Chivato and went to the "new" restaurant called Los Chibatos. On Saturdays, they now have live bands.....

The restaurant is in front and the hotel rooms are in back:

It was too cold for us to sit outside, but these tables sure look inviting:

The menu is quite extensive:

The food was DELICIOUS and we all had different dishes - fish / fried shrimp / chicken:

We were the first ones to arrive and within half an hour or so, the place was packed:

The band played American/Mexican music and after the main singer sang some pretty songs in Spanish, the bass guitar player's daughter sang. She is about 13 years old and she was so so so good! I did a video and if I can get it to load on youtube one of these days, I will post it!

I did not ask about the rooms but the hotel is up and running. The new owner is Steele and he is doing things right!!

Looks nice.
Russ and I drove by, assuming this is the hotelito located between the end of the runway the road goes around and the abandoned old hotel Punta Chivato?
It was poker day last Tuesday afternoon, so we didn't stop being that it was busy and loud. Nice to see business success in remote places like this.

It is indeed the very same place you are referring to and it seems that poker Tuesday is quite popular!

The breaded shrimp dish was mine and I worked hard to almost finish the dish.....I babied it as long as I could! It was really, really good.

What are the hours of operation? I found the place, and was ready to eat, but it was closed! That was mid day, mid week, and three of us left hungry.

I found Russ's house as well, but he wasn't home. Mason was there to do a meet and greet with my dog, so I knew I had the right place.

I hung around on the beach for a while, but decided to head back to Mulege. I was there long enough for a tire to go flat, but I was able to get to the tire shop on the highway with just two stops to air back up.

I think I need a do-over on Punta Chivato!

Edit; I could be off on being mid-week week, it was not too long after Thanksgiving.
