We go there pretty much every summer.
Memorial Day Weekend as well, although the water is a bit cool still, for our liking (others would consider it warm, compared to the Pacific).
Our next trips would usually be 4th of July weekend (if the 4th is next to a weekend), our later in July trips to Baja Sur (always stopping to camp on Shell Island going south and coming north, most trips).
Labor Day weekend (Baja Angel's birthday usually)... our favorite weekend (the warmest water). Many camping photos there in the list of trip pages on www.vivabaja.com
Shade is key... Have a shade house and camp chairs with your ice box full of ice and beers (or ??)!
