Rider down
My brother lost his battle with Glioblastoma this week. He was a regular part of a group of Pacific Northwest desert rats that have been going to the
Baja 1000 for 20 years to pre-ride, work motorcycle pits and have fun.

Lost a very close friend to Glio
and one of my partner's wife has it,
for eight years...(15 months is best prognosis)
It is an ugly and mean disease
So sorry to hear this

Thanks to all the Baja Nomads that posted condolences. While Jimmy was still with us he received a special jersey from oX racing and an autographed
book from Malcom, both brought a smile to his face at a time when he was getting a lot of bad news from the doctors.
His first grandchild was born in 2016 and he underwent surgery and chemo in hopes of getting a chance to see her grow up but it wasn’t to be. He
only lived six months after the initial diagnosis. I know cancer is complex and there are many forms but it seems to me that a country that put
the first man on the Moon could move more quickly to develop cures for these terrible diseases.
Jimmy was a big man with powerful hands that more than once lifted exhausted riders off their bikes at our pit. In high school, quarter backs knew if
they rushed his side of the line those big hands could reach out and bring them down. In retirement he volunteered at food banks and tutoring at
local schools. At race pits he changed wheels, dumped gas, and ran the radios – Honda Jim , XE2KC7UMP.
Later this year I will be spreading some of his ashes in the Bahia Los Angeles where the dolphins play.

I'm so sorry for your brother, Yes cancer is a terrible way to go. Treating cancer is iffy but the best way to start is early detection. The checkups
and test should not be missed. When my wife had cancer ten years ago the doctor told us there was 87 different chemo drugs and they chose the one they
think is the best fit for the patient. I'm sure there are many more now. During our visit the doctor told my wife that he wanted her on a seefood diet
and she responded that she loved seafood and he said no, I mean when you see food eat it.

I wanted to comment on this before, but this stuff is hard for me to read. Lost a long time mentor and my brother from another mother in December
almost identically to Hayden. If only people would use their turn signals and look before they turn left.
Have a Margie for my man Tony, the baddest Jamaican on two wheels and a legendary human being. Make it a Tonyrita, tequila with pineapple and guava or
papaya juice.
