It would be great to keep it close to as it is, although I know this rarely happens when money is involved....

Thanks for the update GypsyJan! I was there last month in El Porvenir because my outfit is purchasing some land there. I agree, there needs to be more control in the "Lupe". Water is rather scarce.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and dropped in to El Cielo. This place had a very different feel about it compared to other wineries. Its future plans, which include a hotel seems to be pushing in a direction that may cause concerns to the locals based on this article.

Seems like everywhere in Baja is just becoming overbuilt and loosing its small rustic feel... I know this is the natural progression of things... But to see Baja the way it was for so long, and now just in the last 10-15 years the exponential growth and development is a little disheartening.

In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in gods name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?
