Todos Santos - stay away!
Just found this article online, declaring Todos Santos "Mexico's Magical Secret". A few more articles like this one and it's not going to be a secret much
longer. Many would say that the cat is already out of the proverbial bag.

Relax Paul. It'll take more than a few fluff pieces to ruin TS. The cat got out of the bag years ago. Like a broken record, Todos is
discovered every year by someone staying in Cabo.

Lee, you are correct - I was poking fun at the journal's "discovery", when I in fact didn't "discover" Todos Santos until ten or so years ago. So my
"stay away" admonition isn't serious, since I'm planning to be one of the gringos putting up a shingle of my own one of these days.

Love the off months as many head north to their real homes. I beg to disagree, People hardly smile and say Buenos Dias anymore. But, of course, you
weren't here when you actually knew local store owners and the dozen or so gringos. I retired here a long time ago, thankfully. Still good local

At least it's not as bad as Los Barriles, where the
gringo/Mexican ratio is so completely inverted, that no one seems to feel the need to use Spanish with the locals anymore, and most of them spend
their day driving their $20k Baja wheel chair from their walled compound to the ATM then cruising the beach the rest of the day.(end of grumpy old man
rant)

Lived in Todos one Winter. Dogs barked all night, weekend music till 2,3,4 a.m., roosters start about 3 a.m. 5 mutts next door would go
crazy whenever I went or came home. Give me gringoes anytime.

Emerged from Los Barriles for a day trip in February and "discovered" Todos Santos & Cerritos. Even did the Hotel California thing. I was very
impressed by the area compared to Los Barriles which has changed for the worse in the last 5 years IMHO. The ATVs have ruined the beach in LB and you
take your life in your hands if you want to walk down the beach, er, road/speedway at almost any hour of the day. At least most people people don't
venture far from the town...lots of less trampled quiet places out in the desert is one is willing to go on foot.
When the way comes to an end, then change. Having changed, you pass through.

TS and LB both done years ago, put a fork in em both. No longer Mexico, extensions of Santa Fe and Palm Springs. Sad.

Isn't it amazing how people move somewhere because they like it better... then they change the place to be like where they came from!??
Of the one Mexican thing that people above are not liking: If they didn't want quads and Jeeps driving on the beach, they could stop that easily. I
suspect the local police want to stay in good grace with the rich American and Canadians?

Wish it could be that easy. The police have zero interest in stopping traffic on the beaches here. I've stopped caring. Gill nets out
front? Just the way it is down here.
Can't speak about LB, Todos has been compared to Santa Fe for years. It's marketing. Not even close. Love it or hate it, it does have a
charm. Not for everyone.
