The website I am using is http://www.heavens-above.com/

Here is what it says for Mulege----

Almost right above you at 9:12 tonight!!

EDIT--- from Mulege you better try to pick it up when it is north, maybe 9:11 because just after 9:12 it will enter the earth`s shadow and disappear!!!

The numbers on the black bar are the hours and minutes, and it's 'military time'... unless you were in The Corps, then 'the big hand is on the nine, and the little hand....'

It's also pretty kewl to note the thing will travel over a thousand miles in FOUR minutes! :wow:

I've been using Heavens above to wow the troops for years with Iridium flares. I used to keep a slip of paper in my wallet with the predictions and not warn my camping buds.

I'd come up with some B.S. story about how a killer asteroid would just be a flare that didn't move like a meteorite across the sky. You wouldn't have time to do anything.

Then, watching my watch I'd point to the right place in the sky and say something like, "What's that?"

Got a few rocks thrown at me.

So to be clear, 8:09+ in Calif., Baja Norte, Ariz., Sonora time, and 9:09+ Baja Sur time, right?

I believe so. I get confused on this all the time what with BCS changing over on a different date for everyone else. It's embarrassing as I am an amateur astronomer but we sky nuts try to stay on UTC just for this reason.

It's usually really bright and stands out because it's moving right along.

Yes, have seen it a few times, like other satellites but brighter and fun knowing people are in there!

There has been a lot of hype over the years about all of the science that is supposedly going on up there. Just hype. I'm not a fan of manned spaceflight in any case but this hunk of stuff has been the amazing money sump since the moon shots. Total welfare for the giant companies and wet dreams for space cowboys.

Every lick of real science that has been done with humans up there could have been done for pennies on the dollar by unmanned experiments.

The idea that humans need to go out there and do some sort of colonizing and spreading the same old junk around is about as connected to reality as a Zane Grey western paperback.

There. Now that I've offended everyone I'll go have dinner and grouse about the human race in general.

It's all FAKE NEWS. They have a mobile spotlight to shine into the sky making a FAKE satellite to go from one horizon to another... everyone knows the world is flat... ask any NBA player. They move it around and post it on a FAKE website. Sad. Bigly SAD.

Just passed over, cut through the bucket end of the Big Dipper. Faded out soon after that.

A bunch of us watched it. I was expecting it to pass across the horizon. Forgot the our beach doesn't face East and it passed almost over head.

Watched it go over last night also saw a satelite going the other direction at the same time. Don't worry they missed each other.
