230V outside electricity?
the designers have obviously never traveled outside of Europe

Think there is a 60s nostalgia that this VW appeals to. Still see the old ones at San Onofre. I don't see 2 people in this comfortably though it can be done. Weekend getaways?

I'd have to get a Sprinter before a VW and only if I were solo.

In the video, the VW is on a beach. Must be 4x4 -- otherwise the video is misleading.

What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

I also thought it was a SYNCHRO.

Flat, Pacific beaches can be driven in 2WD if there is a way across any deep, dry sand.

Based on the prices used Westys are getting in California I would bet this new model could be marketed for about $199,000.
