Calling All Baja Geography Nerds

toronja and I put together this "Guess where in Baja?' quiz in GeoGuessr.

It's a mix of obvious landmarks, not-so-obvious landmarks, and places in the middle of nowhere. GeoGuesser images are all pulled from Google Street View.

Her current high score is 22143/25000, and mine is 22439.

Have fun!

Tried first on my phone last night, not so good. Today, on my PC with better view and controls, and nice the questions were different to keep it fair. Score: 22,614.

Too funny. I'm playing the game, and the second Street View was a Photo Sphere I took at the top of Matomi Wash - is that cheating?

I got unfairly lucky. I didn't know most of the places, but managed some very lucky guesses.

DavidK, figured you'd post a nice score. Congratulations!

StuckSucks, Ha! No, not cheating at all. Thanks for your contribution!

If you play multiple times, you may get a few repeats, but they should be rare. Overall the map we put together has about 300 locations. Some are easy to identify especially if you've been there (e.g. the entrance to a town with the name prominently posted), some are medium (a spot on Highway 1 with a few minor landmarks), and some are pretty tough (a photosphere in the middle of nowhere).

With most of the street views, you can move around enough to get some hints at the location. With the photospheres, what you see is what you get. The photospheres are the most challenging in my opinion.

Now that sounds a lot like cheating!

Stuck, your Matomi and Azufre Wash road junction was in one of my questions.
