Tres Santos Rises again

The controversial and very large development in Todos Santos named Tres Santos, is rising again after lying pretty low key for most of the past year.
Even their sales office was shuttered.
But now they have surfaced again, claiming that this time they aren't lying, they really do have a desalinization plant. However, when Gringo Gazette
reporters tried to verify the existence of this alleged desal plant, they were chased off by black clad thugs.
So who knows? Are they really creating their own water this time, or are they still taking water from the municipality and not paying for it?
Tres Santos' reputation remains stunk up by past illegal deeds, and a bad habit of secrecy.

Given that it was one of the selling points of the development - that it would use desalinated seawater instead of the municipal water supply - one
would think the request for confirmation would be expected. Unless, of course, it was never going to happen in the first place.

A deal plant is a huge operation usually close to the ocean with high construction costs and maintenance. If it exists it would be easily visible.

I found this informative article discussing some of the pros and cons of desalination. It seems to me that a small-scale operation to supply water to a
development like Tres Santos would be impractical, and that a larger one would be prohibitively expensive.

They couldn't be that impractical considering that all the hotels built on the Cabo corridor in the last several years have been
required to use them. It's probably a lot more efficient to desalinate in a sunny climate like BCS because they will be able to off set much of the
electricity requirements with solar panels.

Well, yes - the things that make the resort money are open. The things that will keep it from continuing to be a parasite to the surrounding community
are seemingly "TBD".

I believe the beachfront hotel
is also open. We did try the new Javier Placencia restaurant Jazamango, at their town property, and it was very good.

Great to hear about Jazamango, as we've read and seen good things about Chef Placencia here in New England. If Tres Santos can ultimately bring a few
gems to the community without taking anything away, it might calm more than a few nerves.

Maybe, but they are in direct competition with some of the powers to be real estate wise. I don't see this going away.

John Moreno, the Abogado fighting Tres Santos, was arrested and taken to La Paz this morning. No reason why.

Moreno is being pursued for despojo in a house deal - which may or may not be related in some way to his actions at tres santos, he is named as owner
of property which is contested as part of a transaction.

Are all levels of Mexican government so corrupt from the governor to the judge? or was there enough meat on the bone here that caused the arrest?
Obviously, a few years ago someone was evicted from their home and we have not seen those details.
