If it is possible to drive further in from the southern black line... then that would be the best guess (I have) for Walter Henderson's hike to Arroyo
Grande.
Remember (per his letter to Choral Pepper) he hiked down into Arroyo Grande using a west flowing arroyo, down the mountain. He camped in Arroyo
Grande, then returned to the Model A near the base of Borrego Mountain.
Walter found the rockpile alongside the arroyo he hiked down to Arroyo Grande in... on a ledge in the arroyo canyon, 1/4 to 1/3 down to Arroyo Grande
from the ridgeline.
On this version of your GPS track map, I added blue arrows of possible Walter routes to the ridgeline... For the sake of time, the closer we can drive
(4x4 trucks) to the ridgeline, the more opportunity to hike.

David, I drove Arrajal last spring (west to east) and I am definitely going to try your blue lines. That opening in the ridge line looks drive-able. I
will report if it is a go for driving.
As you know from our previous discussions getting as far as the drainage divide is unlikely. Time will tell. Do't hold your breath because I have lots
of trips on my agenda.
Anybody is welcome to join me. We just need to get the trip planned. I will be using my hard core Jeep and will invite local SF jeepers along.

Thanks Paul... I realize driving to the divide is not likely, but reducing the distance to travel by foot was the goal. We have to imagine when
driving in there, what arroyo or route Walter took seeking a way to the Sierra Tinajas.

Yes, you can drive further, I turned around there because I wanted to be further north.
I too like the Blue Arrow possibilities, I am going to try go from your upper right two arrows and head due east from there next week.

Good luck big boy I wait for your results.
Regarding David's blue lines. I agree they have great possibilities, however these kind of passages in my experience have been frustrating. Most have
big rocks that my various rigs cannot pass. I have tried many in the region mostly around the sides of Borrego mountain and success has been poor.
Also from now on I will be using both SPOT and Inreach for my explorations/adventures and I invite any of you to add your email address to my Inreach
contact list. Yes, I have some addresses, but wont add them unless you send me a U2U to confirm.
