Cartografia E32 sucks? I thought it got pretty good reviews. That's what I was going to buy.

I have asked a print shop to make 5 copies of the set I just bought on eBay.
the quote was 38-40 bucks each. eBay winning bid was for 50 dollars each.
Some quotes were in the 58-62 bucks each range.
I will have 5 copies made of the Norte and Sur Almanacs.
These will be used by my group of off-roaders. Some of whom are very adept at Digital navigation(geocachers  )
Nothing beats a paper copy to augment any spur of the moment decisions.
I wanted 10 copies of each originally, however the cost got in the way.
If I want more copies in the future I will take the time to scan them and remove some of the obsolete ads and add more notes areas.

I have several copies of E32 for each GPS and have used it a lot over the past 4 years. It is clearly the best digital map available at this time.
It's updated with new dirt trails every year and its an easy upgrade.
I use E32 it on my Garmin Montana(s) and my Garmin Delorme InReach Plus ... I have Baja Almanacs as well, but the detail of the E32 surpasses the Baja
Almanacs.

eBay has sold 2 of these in the last 4-5 days.
one for 61 bucks
one for 101 bucks.
my 5 copies(north and south) should be back from the printer this week.

Have been planning to dump mine for a while. 2003 edition, both Norte and Sur in one book, the bottom center on David's photo on the 1st page. Don't
have time to mail it now, busy packing to go South. Ebay is unpredictable, and reserve price or higher starting bet cost extra. Will post in
classifieds here before surrendering to Swiss vultures of Ebay and their fees. In a few months perhaps.

The north and south separate book Almanac is about 20 years old and was replaced in 2003 by a single book with all Baja plus the topographic maps were
printed in multiple colors. 2003 was the best edition in my opinion.
In 2009 that issue was replaced with the last edition but the scale was reduced and the pages enlarged so all of Baja can be seen on fewer pages.
Of course, the 1997 Almanac 2-book edition is better than none!

This year, I am busy researching and writing the road log guidebook for Baja Bound Insurance. I am leaving soon for another week of research. There is
so much work and I have not even begun to make maps for it! I hope it will be all done for the holidays this year!

There will be a large market for a newly printed V even if it was the same as the old version with no updates.

That would be great! I think it's odd a company like Benchmark Maps doesn't make a Baja atlas, but instead only this independent effort. I wonder if
they could be brought in, I love their atlases and they focus on the west. Might be a fit. I guess there's not enough demand. Though this isn't
the first time the almanac has gone out of print and demand and prices have gone up.
Hopefully a new edition will come along...

Forum protocols are least of your worries. Copyright law is what you should worry about. Selling photocopies of protected work is against the law.

Goat, he is selling copies of an expired and replaced edition... actually two editions past.
The 1997-ish Norte and Sur editions were replaced with a full color, all in one book, edition, in 2003.
That one was replaced by a totally re-sized 2009 edition... the FINAL edition by Landon Crumpton.
Not saying it is okay to copy 20-year-old books, but if the author/publisher has replaced it (twice) with newer editions and has not sold the
20-year-old one since it went out of print, maybe in 2001... it could be more of a compliment to his old work that it is still in such demand.
Keep in mind also that Landon did not 'draw' these maps... they are from the government. His efforts were to copy them and put them into book form
along with adding some names and mileages, etc. to make them 'his' maps.
Chris could add some notation, update, or correction and those maps then become his... just like Landon did.
