Cruising Sailors enjoy Bahia Asuncion!

These days we have been busy helping cruising people provision and get their fuel. There are many boats pulling in on their way north for hurricane season. Most do an overnight sail from Mag Bay to here and want to rest up before bashing north and get fuel and food or wait for a weather window. We take them to local restaurants for lunch, show them around our village, get fuel and groceries and to check their email at our place. Tomas at loncheria mary's always delights the gang with fresh seafood!
Here we are enjoying the ceviche, c-cktails and scallop tostadas at Blady's Palapa on the beach.

There have been some reported issues with the Turtle Bay fuel service so more cruisers are taking on fuel here now that we have a real Pemex.

Here are some posing in front of their boats anchored in the bay.

It is always so interesting hearing about their sailing adventures and hanging out in town together gives them a chance to socialize with their cruising buddies too. Plus it gives the local merchants a little boost too so we are happy to welcome them to Asuncion. Here are some enjoying some local music on our patio here at La Bufadora Inn.

And summer brings the baja bound families to surf and camp...here are one of our favorite Nomad families....great to see the kids growing up into such awesome young men.

Shari,
Ya can't beat the Seventies Band....I did not know they booked their performances for a daylight set

The bass player certainly has his performance licks down....slapping the strings and spinning the bass....what a show.

Give my best to Juan and Efrain....and kitty. I hope your summer goes well.

thanks Ged...I passed on your message!
70 Y MAS were busy on the weekend with gigs at the races, the baseball game(we won both games against Abreojos), Blady's Palapa and private Fathers Day parties...we feed & house them so we often get music on the patio...lucky us.

Shari, what is the reliability of the Pemex, should I still top off in Viscaino? BTW the boys can't wait to see you!

Dave, as there are no other Pemex stations along the 70-mile highway between Vizcaino and Asuncion, topping in Vizcaino and again when you arrive in Asuncion would be a Baja-wise-move.

The Pemex here is super reliable so no need to top off in Vizcaino now...but our gas station doesnt take american credit cards....not sure about Vizcaino. But do fill up with pesos at the bank somewhere as at times the vizcaino bank doesnt like gringo bank cards...sure look forward to your visit amigo...been way too long!
